The following Fiction Short Story is my submission to the 4/22/24 Random, Drabble of exactly 100 words featuring, ‘work’

What would you say if you were the lawyer?

Please read on to find out how he handled a life threatening situation.

He was always dressed immaculately the days he was to appear in court.

The lawyer carried himself in a way bespeaking someone who had great wealth.

A man approached him who was in another line of work.

They met on the otherwise deserted street.

The man pulled a gun on the prosperous lawyer.

“Your money or your life!” the thief snarled menacingly.

The quick thinking ,smooth talking, silver tongued lawyer replied,

“You better take my life, I’m saving my money for my retirement.”

What brilliant thinking!

What logic!

What gravitas!

The thief realized he was outmatched, turned tail and ran.
