In high school, his football coach urged him to, “Never give up.”
His college physics professor advised him to persevere until there’s mastery.
The boy became a man
He got married.
It lasted two years.
He wasn’t use to failure, he who perseveres will succeed.
His wife moved out of their apartment.
He texted, phoned, and sent emails urging her to return.
A knock on his door one evening.
She’s back, he thought!
The sheriff handed him a restraining order.
