Music To Die For
Or better yet, music to die WITH
Music is fundamental in most people’s lives. Probably you wouldn’t be reading this post unless it was crucial in your life too.
We are bombarded by music in advertising, movies, the theater and church. We’re tempted to attend concerts coming to the ‘town near where you’ live, go online to hear our favorite songs on Spotify, Amazon, Apple, Pandora and other streaming services. Lists are routinely compiled informing us of the current top selling albums and the singles that are spawned by these compilations from our favorite artists.
Musicians, especially singers are A-list celebrities. Anyone who has a teenager (or has watched a football game) is aware of Taylor Swift, American’s newest young billionaire, her money earned from music.
Lee, a friend of mine, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given three months to live. About a month after his diagnosis, he noticed many of his favorite C.Ds missing from his collection only to discover his daughter had taken them to prepare a playlist when he was passing as predicted in the time frame opined by his oncologist team. Her love and concern for her dad was evident. She wanted him to depart hearing the music that was so important in his life.
Her well intended gesture was for naught.
