I identify with your article. My thoughts are: you and your partner have earned vacation time together from day to day parenting and working.
Don’t over-travel with young kids. It robs them the enjoyment of the novelty of travel when they’re old enough to really appreciate adult things. McDonalds is on every corner. Travel the block with your kids until they can afford their own fare-intellectually and fiscally. They’ll love you for it but maybe not realize it :)
